Antique Pattern Gallery
Old patterns, new hands.
63 quilts, samplers, needlepoint, embroidery and lace from the open-access collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago and The Cleveland Museum of Art. Each museum marks its images public domain or CC0. Pick one and open it in a generator: a sampler becomes a symbol chart you can size to your fabric count, and a quilt lends its colors to the quilt generator.
Labels, dates and makers come from each museum's own records. Needle Nook is not affiliated with these museums.

How to make it yours
From a museum piece to your own project
- Samplers, needlepoint, embroidery, lace and crochet: the cross-stitch or needlepoint chart maker opens with the picture already loaded. Choose the width and number of colors, then stitch from the chart.
- Quilts: the quilt generator opens with a palette taken from the quilt's main colors, and the matching block where the generator has one.
- Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded; the gallery image is read from this site.
